Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Loom is built on a simple promise: your reflections are yours, and only yours.

What Loom stores

Where your data lives

All of your data is stored in two places:

  1. On your device — using Apple’s SwiftData framework, encrypted by iOS
  2. In your private iCloud — encrypted end-to-end by Apple, accessible only to your Apple ID

Loom never sees your data. We have no servers that store your entries. We have no database with your name. If you delete the app, your data goes with it.

What Loom sends to AI

When you write an entry and tap REFLECT, Loom sends the text of your current entry, the detected mood, and the conversation history within that single reflection session to OpenAI’s API via our Supabase Edge Function proxy.

OpenAI’s data usage policy for API requests prohibits using your text to train their models. Your entries are not retained beyond the immediate request-response cycle.

We send the absolute minimum needed to generate a meaningful response — never your name, never previous entries, never your subscription information.

What Loom does NOT do

Subscription data

If you subscribe to Loom Infinite, your subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, which integrates with Apple’s StoreKit. RevenueCat receives a transaction identifier and your subscription tier — it does not receive your journal entries or any personal information beyond what Apple provides for IAP processing.
